Learn several painting techniques and make a set of 6 hand painted notecards with Madison of Beau Paper Co.. Our class will begin with an introduction to common painting tools and mediums. Then we’ll create a custom set of 6 cards in a moving meditation. Relax and experiment with inks, watercolors and acrylic paint.
Each student will bring home a set of 6 cards and envelopes.

The Woodstock Visitor's Center is hosting my illustrations! Join us on Friday Sept 7th for an opening reception during Friday Night Live.
This is the story of the ordinary objects that keep life a little more centered in the present. These drawings are a meditation in gratitude. Flowers from a friend's garden are a reminder of support and sisterhood. Glasses on the window sill represent a loved one’s perspective. A bird becomes a symbol of hope. My mother’s scissors a reminder of legacy. An armchair transforms into a symbol of camaraderie and community.

Plan to have fun in this class as we experiment with different styles of lettering. We will go through the basics of lettering, layout and composition. We'll play with different pencils, pens and materials as we hone what makes each of our work unique.

In this fun and interactive course, students will explore several styles and techniques for hand lettering before creating a personal lettering guide for future work. We will spend time discussing the basic structure of type, tools, type psychology and how to effectively use type in your work.
Students will leave class with the skills to plan and outline hand lettering projects, a collection of pens, papers and tools curated by Madison. Students will also leave with a workbook chock full of resources for cultivating their hand lettering practice.
